Zora's Foresight
The first mid-engined Corvette debuted nearly 70 years after the original Corvette rolled off the production line in Flint, Michigan, in the summer of 1953—the same year that Zora Arkus-Duntov joined GM. An esteemed automotive engineer and former Le Mans driver for Ford, Duntov was passionate about speed and had long advocated for a mid-engined Corvette to rival European sports cars. His controversial vision finally became a reality in 2020, much to the dismay of many purists.
