The Ford GT40 made its debut at the Nürburgring in 1964, facing early setbacks, but soon became a dominant force in motorsport under Carroll Shelby. After its first victory in 1965, the GT40 went on to win the Daytona and Sebring races, eventually securing a 1-2-3 finish at the 1966 Le Mans, though it was marred by controversy. The GT40 continued to win at Le Mans in 1967 and 1968, with the iconic Mk I and Mk IV models showcasing its endurance and engineering excellence. Despite its success, Ford’s decision to focus on new regulations led to the GT40's evolution, cementing its place in racing history.
